January started on a very exciting note for me as I got to visit Singapore again. I did a lot of things and this time decided to visit the Keppel Center for art education for children . It is located in the national gallery Singapore which is home to the largest public collection of Singaporean and southeast Asian art in the region.
I saw works of lots of asian artists which was a first for me.
The most interesting artist for me was Lim Tze Peng. He was interested in calligraphy since he was a young boy. He created his own type of calligraphy called the muddled calligraphy or Hu Tu Zi. It focuses on colours, movement and energy instead of the characters.
I tried to create calligraphy art too. I choose the Chinese characters of happiness and painted with black ink and a calligraphy pen.
I did many other art experiences too. There were many artists like Georgette Chan who is known for portraits, Ahmad Sadali who painted on oil on canvas and Raden Saleh who is known for his realistic looking animals.
